Historic 16th-century convent hotel in UNESCO World Heritage Baeza

Historical Setting & Architecture

Originally a 16th-century convent for the Nuns of the Carmelitas order, the hotel is built around a restored cloister courtyard. The Renaissance-style architecture of Baeza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is reflected in the hotel's preserved structural details. Guests access the property through the old town, surrounded by the city's 16th-century prosperity displayed in buildings like El Palacio de Jabalquinto.

Rooms & Comfort

The 84 rooms are arranged around the cloister, ensuring quiet and peaceful spaces away from street noise. Each room includes effective air conditioning, comfortable bedding, and a large bathroom. Some reviews note that kettles and complimentary bar items are available upon request in certain suites.

Location & Nearby Attractions

The hotel is situated in the old town of Baeza, within walking distance of the Palace of Jabalquinto, Santa Cruz Church, and the University of Baeza. All historic sites are reachable on foot, and the town is relatively flat, making it accessible for guests with mobility issues. The nearby public parking and the hotel's own secure underground parking provide options for those arriving by car.

Dining & Cuisine

The on-site Señorío de Baeza restaurant serves international cuisine prepared with traditional ingredients from Jaen. A buffet breakfast is included in many rates, offering fresh orange juice, real coffee, and hot sandwiches. Gluten-free menus are available with prior request, and the bar serves drinks in the courtyard or lounge.

Amenities & Services

The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk, concierge service, and tour desk to assist with local cultural activities and leisure arrangements. Family-friendly amenities include strollers, kids' meals, and a shared lounge/TV area. Secure indoor parking, laundry service, and meeting/banquet facilities are available for business travelers.
